Section 3 - Ideas and classification of film

Title of film
We decided to call our film 'Death Term', we decided to choose this, as from our research it showed people thought short names were more effective as they didn't distract from the film itself.
We chose the actual name as it shows that its in school time, from the 'term' bit and the 'death' bit relates to the murders.

Target Audience
Our target audience is for ages 15 - 30, as our research showed this is the main age who watch and thrillers often. We also did this age, as a large proportion of this age group are currently in or have recently been in education so can partly relate with the storyline; setting etc.
We would expect younger that 15 to view the film as well, as people under the classification age often enjoy watching films, even if they are not allowed to watch it due to classification, and they can also relate to this film.

Classification of film

We decided to give our film a certificate rating on 15. We researched different ratings by viewing the http://www.bbfc.co.uk/ website. We looked at descriptions of films rated between 12 to 18.
We thought, although some 12 rated films contained mild gore etc, our had a more psychological effect so it should be rated higher than this. We also looked at rating 18, and decided this was too high as we didn't plan to have extremely graphic scenes. So, we decided to rate it 15, as it contains some psychological aspects, and some graphic/gore scenes.
